URSB Reviews Quality Management Documents to Strengthen Efficiency and Standardization

The Division of Quality Assurance conducted a four-day retreat to review and update key Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents aimed at improving efficiency, harmonising workflows, and strengthening quality management across the institution.

The retreat, held from 16th to 19th June 2026 at Protea Hotel Entebbe, was graced by 11 participants from relevant divisions to review SOP documents for Planning & Budgeting and Human Resource Management, Culture & Talent.

The discussions focused on aligning the reviewed SOPs with the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), ensuring that document codes across all Quality Management System (QMS) documents are consistent with DFA coding structures. These documents include Generated Records (GR), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Working Instructions (WI), and Reference Documents (RD).

Participants also reviewed the Quality Manual to ensure it reflects the current status of workflows at URSB and remains aligned with Quality Management Standards, particularly the ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

The review comes following the integration of formerly separate functions, including Human Resource Management and Policy & Planning, into the current Human Resource Management, Culture & Talent and Planning & Budgeting divisions.

“When we stop improving, we start to slip backwards,” said Assistant Commissioner Quality Assurance, Mr. Sylvester Muhereza, emphasizing the importance of continuous growth in maintaining quality standards.

The alignment of quality assurance documents is expected to support smoother operations and improve consistency in service delivery.
