The Heads of Government Agencies last week gathered at the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) headquarters in Bweyogerere for the 7th Heads of Government Agencies (HOGA) Meeting to discuss how government institutions can work together to deliver better services to Ugandans.
The meeting provided a platform for leaders of government agencies to align their institutional priorities and strengthen collaboration as Uganda implements the Fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV) and the country’s Ten-Fold Growth Strategy.
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) was represented our Team Leader and Registrar General, Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho, who joined fellow heads of government agencies in deliberating on national development priorities and strategies for improving service delivery.
Held quarterly, the HOGA forum brings together chief executive officers, accounting officers and senior leaders from government agencies to address matters that require a whole-of-government approach. The meeting is coordinated by the Office of the Prime Minister and focuses on improving coordination across institutions and supporting national development priorities.
Discussions at this year’s meeting centred on socio-economic transformation, industrialisation, enhanced service delivery and sustainable national development.
The gathering also provided an opportunity for agencies to share experiences, identify areas for collaboration and identify ways of improving services offered to citizens and businesses.
As government institutions continue to work together, platforms such as HOGA play an important role in ensuring that national priorities are implemented effectively and that public services remain responsive to the needs of Ugandans.
