The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), alongside partners, participated in the Annual Toastmasters Conference 2026, bringing together professionals from across East Africa to promote leadership and communication skills.
Held at Silver Springs Hotel, the conference attracted members from Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi for a day of speeches, networking, and recognition. The event, organised under Toastmasters Division C, is regarded as one of the biggest platforms for public speaking and professional development in the region.
URSB was represented by Board members Ms. Hope Okeny and Ms. Jackie Kemigisha Kiiza, along with staff from various departments, reflecting the Bureau’s commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

The conference featured speech contests, keynote addresses, and an awards gala night celebrating outstanding speakers. Participants also engaged in structured networking sessions, creating opportunities to connect with professionals across different sectors.
Organisers emphasised the importance of effective communication in leadership, noting that strong speaking skills remain key in today’s competitive environment. The event highlighted how platforms like Toastmasters help individuals build confidence, sharpen their message, and grow their influence.
For URSB, participation in the conference aligns with its broader goal of strengthening institutional capacity and empowering staff with skills that support service delivery.
The annual conference continues to serve as a key meeting point for aspiring and experienced speakers, offering a space to learn, connect, and inspire.
