The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) last week joined partners at a three-day engagement held at Silverback Hotel in Mbarara, as part of the ongoing HireNowWest Tour.
The initiative, organised with BrighterMonday Uganda and supported by partners including the Mastercard Foundation, focused on strengthening small and medium enterprises, especially in the agribusiness sector. The sessions brought together entrepreneurs from across Western Uganda, many involved in crop production, livestock, and value addition.
URSB used the platform to guide participants on business formalisation, helping them understand the process of registering their enterprises and the benefits that come with operating legally. These include better access to financing, improved market opportunities, and stronger business credibility.
The engagement also featured practical clinics aimed at helping agribusiness SMEs grow. Participants received support on accessing affordable financing, recruiting skilled workers, and improving business operations to meet market demands.
With agribusiness being a key driver of livelihoods in the region, the discussions focused on the need for structure, skilled teams, and long-term planning. Entrepreneurs were encouraged to move beyond informal operations and position their businesses for sustainable growth.
The HireNowWest Tour continues to provide a platform for learning and connection, with URSB reaffirming its commitment to bringing services closer to the people and supporting Uganda’s enterprise development.
