URSB Welcomes New Board Member Masagazi to Strengthen Governance

The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has welcomed Mr. Deogratius Masagazi to its Board of Directors, strengthening its leadership and oversight as it continues to enhance service delivery.

Mr. Masagazi, who serves as Under Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, took the oath of office at the Uganda Business Facilitation Centre in Kololo last week. The ceremony was presided over by Board Chairman Rt. Hon. Amb. Francis K. Butagira and administered by Registrar for Planning, Research and Development, HW John Paul Edoku.

In his remarks, Amb. Butagira expressed confidence in the new board member, noting that his appointment comes at a critical time as URSB advances its strategic priorities. He emphasised integrity and accountability as key principles guiding board service.

Administering the oath, HW Edoku highlighted the responsibility entrusted to board members, urging adherence to professionalism and ethical standards in line with the URSB Act.

URSB’s Board is appointed by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs in accordance with the law, and brings together representatives from key government institutions alongside professionals with expertise in law, business, and economics to guide the Bureau’s work.

Welcoming the new member, Acting Registrar General Ntale Mustapher pledged management’s support and expressed optimism about Mr. Masagazi’s contribution.

URSB looks forward to his strategic input as the Bureau continues to improve service delivery and support business formalisation across Uganda.
