The Compliance and Enforcement Division of the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) conducted a two-day risk training workshop for the Risk Committee and Risk Champions on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st October 2025. The workshop, held at the UBFC main auditorium, was themed “Strengthening Our Risk Culture for Sustainable Success.”
The training led by Mr. Robert Busuulwa, an expert aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of risk management principles, improve skills in risk identification and reporting, and equip staff to foster a risk-aware culture across the organization. It brought together key personnel from various departments, including members of the Risk Committee and designated Risk Champions.
During the workshop, participants engaged in interactive sessions focused on identifying potential operational, financial, and strategic risks, assessing their impact, and developing effective mitigation strategies.
The training also provided practical tools and frameworks to help staff integrate risk considerations into daily operations, encouraging a culture where potential challenges are anticipated and addressed before they escalate.
Speaking at the workshop, Ms. Kisakye Immaculate Nakato. Senior Compliance &. Enforcement Officer, highlighted the critical role of a robust risk culture in achieving sustainable organizational success. Participants expressed appreciation for the practical knowledge gained, noting that the skills acquired would strengthen URSB’s ability to manage risks effectively while ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
The two-day workshop marks an important step in URSB’s ongoing commitment to promoting risk awareness, strengthening internal controls, and fostering a proactive, accountable, and resilient organizational culture.
