The Commissioner of Business Registration, Mr. Agaba Gilbert, has called on TREP support officers to prioritize self-empowerment as a foundation for delivering the results expected of them.
Mr. Agaba made the remarks during a working tour of 10 TREP centers across the country, including Lugazi, Jinja, Kamuli, Iganga, Tororo, Busia, Mbale, Kumi, Soroti, and Moroto. The visit was aimed at familiarizing himself with TREP operations, engaging directly with field officers, and appreciating the challenges they face in their day-to-day work.
While engaging with the officers, he highlighted the significance of ongoing personal and professional development, encouraging them to continuously enhance their skills and actively participate in all URSB activities. He noted that this approach would better prepare them to deliver results and contribute meaningfully to TREP’s success.
The officers welcomed the visit, noting that it was a strong demonstration of the Commissioner’s commitment to TREP and his interest in their welfare. A special moment came during the Commissioner’s stop in Moroto, where Mr. Baka, one of the TREP officers, presented him with a traditional Karamojong fabric as a token of appreciation.
Mr. Agaba reaffirmed URSB’s commitment to supporting TREP officers in the field and encouraged them to remain innovative, proactive, and focused on service delivery. He further noted that the success of TREP is directly linked to URSB’s broader Strategic Plan IV, which emphasizes improved access to URSB services, stakeholder engagement, and improved service delivery as critical drivers of national development.
