URSB Trains QMS Champions Ahead of Internal Audit

The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has stepped up preparations for its upcoming ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) internal audit with a specialized training session for staff.

The training, held on September 19, 2025, at the UBFC Auditorium, brought together URSB’s Quality Champions, members of the audit team, and representatives from regional branches. It was facilitated by QMS consultant Mr. Vincent Ddamulira, who guided participants through the principles and practices of internal auditing.

The session focused on equipping staff with the skills to evaluate whether URSB’s documented processes meet ISO 9001:2015 standards. Participants learned how to plan and conduct audits, identify non-conformities, recommend corrective measures, and track improvements.

According to the facilitators, internal auditors play a central role not only in compliance but also in strengthening risk management, driving efficiency, and embedding a culture of quality across the institution. The training used a hands-on approach, giving participants the confidence to carry out effective audits and provide management with actionable insights.

Officials noted that strengthening QMS systems ensures consistent, reliable service delivery to the public while maintaining the credibility of URSB’s processes. The training also reinforced the importance of quality practices in regional offices, ensuring that standards are applied uniformly countrywide.

With this capacity-building session, URSB has positioned its staff to conduct a robust internal audit of documented processes and sustain its ISO 9001:2015 certification.
