Setting Standards, Leaving Legacies” Registrar General calls for quality at URSB

The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has launched its Quality Management System (QMS), marking a significant milestone towards enhancing operational efficiency and service delivery. Registrar General Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho commended the progress made during the launch event held at the Uganda Business Facilitation Centre (UBFC) Auditorium, attended by top management and staff.

Ms. Kainobwisho emphasised that true quality shows in actions taken when no one is watching. “Quality is doing the right thing at the right time, in the right place, with the right people,” she stated. She pointed out that standards are practical and applicable to everyday situations, encouraging staff to think about the minimum standards they uphold in their work, similar to the standards we maintain at home.

Citing scripture, Ms. Kainobwisho referenced Luke 16:10: “Whoever is trusted with little can be trusted with much,” and 1 Corinthians 14:40: “Let all things be done in order.” She pointed out that both the Bible and the Quran emphasise the importance of discipline and order, aligning with URSB’s QMS journey.

She encouraged staff to see this achievement not just as a milestone but as part of a lasting legacy. “We are setting legacies. Let us be remembered as the generation that set standards. We have been empowered with the right tools,” she concluded.
