The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, held an internal celebration to mark its attainment of the internationally recognized ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification, a milestone that underscores the Bureau’s commitment to delivering efficient and client-centered services.
The event, held at the Uganda Business Facilitation Centre (UBFC) Auditorium, brought together staff from headquarters, Georgian House and regional offices to reflect on the collective effort behind the milestone. Employees based at UBFC and Georgian House attended physically, while colleagues in regional offices and TREP Centres joined virtually.
The Registrar General Ms Mercy K. Kainobwisho served as the main celebrant, commending staff for their dedication and resilience throughout the certification journey. The celebration recognized the commitment of teams across the institution who contributed to strengthening systems, improving processes, and embedding a culture of quality service delivery.

URSB’s path to certification began in 2018 when the Bureau embarked on a deliberate process to standardize operations and align its services with globally recognized quality management standards. Although the initiative experienced delays during the COVID-19 pandemic, renewed institutional commitment and rigorous external audits enabled URSB to successfully attain certification in 2025.
The internal celebration provided staff with an opportunity to appreciate their role in achieving the milestone and reaffirm the Bureau’s pledge to uphold excellence.
