URSB Staff Share Christmas Cheer Through Secret Santa Game

The Christmas bells are already ringing at the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) as staff from the Human Resource, Planning, and Internal Audit departments came together to celebrate the season through a lively Santa gift exchange game.

Filled with joy, surprises, and Christmas energy, the activity allowed staff to step away from their daily routines and connect in a relaxed and joyful setting. Each participant secretly selected a colleague to gift, turning the exchange into a fun guessing game as presents were opened and “Secret Santas” revealed.

The gifts reflected creativity and appreciation among colleagues in a warm, light-hearted atmosphere, with smiles and applause filling the room as each gift was presented to its receiver. The activity reminded staff of the importance of teamwork, kindness and shared moments beyond the workplace.

Secret Santa is a tradition of anonymous gift giving, where participants draw names in secret and spend days, or weeks, acting as an invisible benefactor, leaving small, thoughtful tokens or notes. The climax occurs when identities are finally revealed, often accompanied by laughter as participants realize their “Santa” was sitting right next to them all along.

Participants described the Santa game as a refreshing way to strengthen bonds and celebrate the end of a busy year.

Beyond the gifts, the activity fostered a sense of unity and appreciation across departments, reinforcing a positive work culture built on teamwork and mutual respect.
