The Board Chair, Rt. Hon. Amb. Francis Butagira, joined government leaders and private sector stakeholders at Mestil Hotel for the official launch of the Private Sector Development (PSD) Programme Implementation Action Plan under the Fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV).
The Action Plan was unveiled during the PSD Programme Annual Review by the Minister of State for General Duties, Henry Musasizi, who noted that Uganda’s economy has rebounded strongly and is now ranked among the fastest-growing globally, with projections placing it among the top economies by 2031.

He highlighted expanded private sector financing through the Uganda Development Bank, Emyooga and the Parish Development Model, which have collectively injected trillions of shillings into the economy to deepen financial inclusion and wealth creation.
Amb. Butagira’s participation underscored URSB’s central role in advancing formalisation and strengthening the business environment.
As Uganda implements NDP IV and the Tenfold Growth Strategy aimed at growing the economy to USD 500 billion by 2040, URSB remains aligned to its Strategic Plan IV theme of positioning Uganda as the best destination for doing business.
By championing efficient registration systems, legal reforms and digital service delivery, URSB continues to support a resilient, competitive private sector, one that is formal, inclusive and capable of driving sustainable national transformation.
