The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has officially welcomed its newest team members in an induction ceremony held at the Uganda Business Facilitation Centre (UBFC) Auditorium last week. The event, organized by the Department of Human Resources, was officiated by Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho, the Registrar General, who delivered an inspiring address urging the recruits to embrace excellence, discipline, and purpose in their service.
In her speech, Ms. Kainobwisho encouraged the new staff to approach their roles with focus and integrity, reminding them that success comes through commitment and consistent effort.
Let’s not be people who speak and do nothing. You must be faithful with what you have in your hand, be excellent and productive at it
“Let’s not be people who speak and do nothing. You must be faithful with what you have in your hand, be excellent and productive at it,” she said.
She noted that while some may join institutions for different reasons, what truly matters is the value one adds and the impact one makes.
“As you join us, how you serve here determines what doors will open for you. The job will find you in a move of productivity, value addition, and excellence,” Ms. Kainobwisho emphasized.
Using Coca-Cola’s constant advertising as an example of perseverance, she urged staff to “give their best even when people are not watching,” highlighting that flexibility and a proactive mindset are key traits of successful professionals.
Concluding her address, the Registrar General reminded the recruits that they were chosen from thousands of applicants and challenged them to turn their theoretical knowledge into practical results from day one, becoming active contributors to URSB’s mission of facilitating business growth, innovation, and national development.
“We need to audit the gains we have as URSB and also protect the gains.” She remarked.
